Iterations of the Great Masters & Contemporary Photography

ARTIST YASMINA CERA
TO EXHIBIT “Iterations of the Great Masters & Contemporary Photography”
AT YONKERS RIVERFRONT LIBRARY

Yonkers, NY, January 7th, 2009: Yonkers Riverfront Library will host the “Iterations of the Great Masters & Contemporary Photography” exhibition by artist Yasmina Cera from February 2nd to February 27th in the Yonkers Room.

The show is a compilation of decades of work that aims to render renowned oil paintings into watercolor iterations. Moreover, for the artist, it represents a single step in a cyclic process of intrusion and refinements, thus taking the role of systematic variation in traditional experimental methodologies, i.e. watercolor techniques. Also, the exhibit includes fashion photography that is deconstructed by dint of pencil sketches. When all's said and done, the hope is to introduce unique perspectives of notable imagery.

Yasmina Cera currently resides in Yonkers, NY where she has spent the majority of her life. At an early age, art was a means of expression and escape. Many days were spent sketching the day away on a pad or piece of paper. As a professional, she has dabbled in various realms of design and art. And as a young woman, she presented her portfolio to an admissions advisor and was immediately accepted. A graduate of Elizabeth Seton College (Presently known as Iona College) Yasmina Cera has spent many years away from the art world, as she has been kept busy with a humble professional career. Yonkers Riverfront Library will be her first exhibit post academia.

You can view Yasmina’s work on her website: www. Yasminacera.com

From what I remember, this was a riot somewhere in London after a soccer match ended up in chaos. Interestingly enough, the depiction is a bit cheery from what i remember.
